Getting Personal About the Truth

As a woman, you have likely experienced some degree of doubt in who you are or in your value.

For example, have you ever compared yourself to someone else and felt inferior? Perhaps you don’t believe that you have any purpose or that you are not very gifted or talented. Maybe you are the woman who doesn’t believe anyone could ever love you if they really knew you.

May I be bold enough to speak truth to those lies for a moment?

The inherent truth of the Bible tells us who you and I are as a follower of Jesus. I’m going to ask you to try reading these statements aloud. Find somewhere quiet and just simply speak them out loud, envisioning yourself in each scripture. Make it personal because, my friend, Jesus is very personal.

  • You are Valuable

    • Ephesians 1:5,6 – God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.

    • Ephesians 2:10 – For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

  • You are Loved

    • John 1:12 – But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

    • Romans 8:35,37 - Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

  • You are Chosen

    • Ephesians 1:4 – He chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.

    • 2 Timothy 1:9 - who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began.

  • You are Forgiven

    • Colossians 1:13,14 – He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

    • Romans 3:24 – Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.

Did you find that reading these truths aloud stirred something within you? Perhaps it is simply curiosity or maybe it is something more; a desire deep within to be truly known and valued. Could it really be possible that this kind of love exists?

My friend, I bring you good tidings of great joy! Jesus Christ is the answer and everything our hearts have ever desired is found in Him. As we draw closer in relationship to Him, He will reveal Himself to us according to His Word (Jeremiah 29:13) and, as a result, we will begin to understand and believe what He says to be true about who we are as Women, His Beloved.
