Adam and Eve were complete, lacking nothing. This was the essence of their identity, people created in God’s image. But Eve, inebriated by the lie and heady with temptation, forgot who she was.
To limited eyes that can only see what’s temporal, it seemed as if all was lost—that nothing remained but indescribable loss and utter defeat. But sin and death would not have the final word.
